We are a showcase for bioenergy in the world

One of the first crops we had in Brazil was sugarcane, and through it the sugar and alcohol industry played a fundamental role, showing the world the possibility of positively impacting issues such as mobility, breaking boundaries and bringing investments. Soon, the world found itself in a “nose pool” with fossil fuels and the sugar-energy sector, once again, a protagonist in renewables, producing bioenergy, biofuels and food, and definitively showing its importance on the world stage.

With the increasingly strong demand for sustainability, biofuels and clean energy, the sector is experiencing an increase in investments with the development of these new products. Within this context, Brazil plays an extremely important role, as it is positioned at a different level when it comes to bioenergy.

The macro-region of Ribeirão Preto, mainly the city of Sertãozinho, became recognized for launching innovations and discussing trends for the coming years. Fenasucro e Agrocana is responsible for promoting and boosting products and technologies that take and show the world the capacity of the bioenergy sector.

In this year's edition, which will take place from August 15th to 18th, at the event center Zanini, in Sertãozinho, São Paulo, novelties in biofuels, bioeconomy, sustainability and energy transition will be key points of the fair, which is the only one in the world dedicated exclusively to the bioenergy chain.

Vanguard:
Focusing on the global energy transition, highlighting issues of sustainability and efficiency, Fenasucro and Agrocana, always at the forefront, not only points out trends in bioenergy, but also offers quality technical content.

Today, Brazil is a reference in the production of biofuels, with the largest production in the world. Therefore, all eyes are turned to the event that is the great driver in the launch of new technologies. The fair, for example, was the great promoter of biogas in Brazil.

Over these 29 years of Fenasucro and Agrocana, many projects, products and technologies have been launched on the market through the fair. Of note is "Cane Whey ", protein capsules extracted from sugar cane used as a food supplement; as well as green plastic, produced from sugarcane; and Green Diesel, launched in 2022, as a great promise and opportunity for ethanol, as it is a new technology that transforms butanol into a diesel substitute, without modifying the engines.

In addition to these, in 2016, the event also presented to the world the Brazilian project “Pato a Jato”, from the Federal Technological University of Paraná, which developed the prototype of an individual vehicle powered by ethanol, with high energy efficiency, with a range of 309 kilometers , using only one liter of biofuel. The feat gained worldwide recognition and, seven years later, the project continues to evolve. In April of this year, during the Indianapolis 500 race, in the United States, Pato a Jato reaffirmed a new record, as the car reached 768 kilometers with one liter of ethanol.

It can be stated, given the above, that no other country, other than Brazil, develops such an integrated and organized chain for the generation of clean and sustainable energy. Proof of this strength and representativeness is that the fair expects to receive more than 42 thousand visitors, coming from all over Brazil and from 47 other countries. In business, there is an expectation of exceeding the 5.2 billion reais generated last year, consolidating itself once again as a model in professional updating, relationships and commercial agreements for thousands of professionals in sugar mills, biofuels, bioelectricity and others. links in this production chain.

More than three thousand products from national and international brands on display will be spread across four macro sectors: bioenergy, agriculture, industry and transport and logistics. There will be more than 800 brands present, which will present equipment, services, solutions, new technologies and trends for the sector.

Over this and the coming years, the expectation is for a strong acquisition of products and equipment and a structuring of the entire bioenergetic chain. In addition, several plants that were idle, started grinding again in 2023 and there is a forecast for the construction of new units, which reflects positively on the fair.

In this context, bioenergetics has an unmatched capacity when compared to other types of industry, as there is a fantastic possibility, through Renovabio, an initiative that challenges us to think even more about the way we plant and produce.

We are passionate about what we believe in and sugarcane, corn and cellulose, derived from these agro-products, allow us to dream more and more of a sustainable industry that is friendly to future generations. What we really want is a better world, producing bioproducts in line with global needs. Pride of what is produced in Brazil.

Clean energy:
By being a reference, bringing innovation and discussing trends for the coming years, commitments with a sustainable conduct are expected from a fair like Fenasucro and Agrocana. For this reason, all electricity consumed during the event will come from a clean, 100% renewable and certified source.

The initiative is a partnership with Toniello Energy, the Group's energy trader Viralcool and meets the mission of RX Brasil, organizer and promoter of the fair together with the National Center of Industries of the Sugar-Energy and Biofuels Sector, to become increasingly ecological. In addition to being held with completely clean energy, the fair will also feature five charging stations for electric and hybrid cars at zero cost to users.

With this project to be supplied 100% with clean energy, Fenasucro and Agrocana will be a bioenergy fair using bioenergy to function. The initiative demonstrates, once again, the potential of the event, as what is seen as a trend ends up consolidating itself.

I see a big green wave emerging that can benefit us in the export of technologies. We have a duty to be proud of everything we have built so far in the agro. There is a perception that together we can do more, much more than we imagine. Opinion formation is changing faster and faster and it is now that we need to understand our role.

Technological evolution and efforts to mitigate climate change have driven the sector's growth globally. We have solutions in mobility, food and renewable energy. When we take care of nature it takes care of us!

Sustainable Innovation Route:
Finally, another novelty of the 29th edition of the fair is the launch of the Sustainable Innovation Route, which will boost and give visibility, before and during the event, to exhibitors who present solutions and technologies focused on sustainability. In this way, Fenasucro and Agrocana, once again, will encourage and offer solutions and products that bring benefits to the bioenergy production chain and, consequently, to the entire planet.

The content events are also confirmed in the four days of the fair, with more than 100 hours of technical and specialized programming to meet the demands on clean energy generation, sustainability, productive efficiency and management, among other topics, with the presence of great and renowned speakers and industry entities.
